With the start of the college football season just over two months away, Athlon Sports has released its preseason All-American teams and it includes several Tigers.
LSU running back Leonard Fournette has been named to the first-team. Fournette ran for 1,953 yards, averaging 6.5 yards per game and 22 touchdowns in 2015.
Offensive lineman Ethan Pocic has been named to the second-team. In 2015, the senior center was named to the 2015 All-SEC Coaches Second Team. Pocic passed up the NFL Draft to return to the Tiger O-Line.
Four Tiger defensive stars made the preseason All-American teams.
Jamal Adams was named first-team safety on defense. The junior star had 67 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and four interceptions as a sophomore.
Defensive lineman Arden Key was named to the second-team. The sophomore finished last season with 41 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and five sacks, and don't be surprised if Key moves up to the first-team after this season.
Defensive back Tre'Davious White also passed on this year's draft and landed on the third-team. White finished last year with 44 tackles and seven passes defensed.
Also passing on the draft was linebacker Kendall Beckwith, who was named to the fourth-team on defense. The senior leader in the middle made 84 tackles last season, 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
There will be a lot of talent on the field for the Tigers this year and very high expectations. The 2016 team opens the season in Green Bay, WI against the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Lambeau Field.
