LAKE CHARLES, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said a woman accused of impersonating a police officer was arrested at a casino early Tuesday morning.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office reported Georgetta Augillard, 23, of Baton Rouge, handcuffed a man and said she was a detective with a police department in Texas.
Deputies said the incident happened at a casino on LA 397 in Lake Charles around 3:30 a.m. They added toy handcuffs had been used to detain the man.
"Deputies spoke with the victim who stated he and Augillard met in the casino and when he went outside to leave she called him over and advised him she was a cop and he was going to jail," a written release stated.
Deputies reported Augillard told them she worked for a law enforcement agency in Baton Rouge. However, deputies said when calls were made to that office and one in Houston, they were told Augillard didn't work there.
Investigators said Augillard could not give them legitimate proof that she is a law enforcement officer.
She was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with false imprisonment and fraudulent portrayal of a law enforcement officer. Her bond was set at $15,000.
