BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two women accused of stealing credit cards and purchasing more than $10,000 in items on them.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported the cards were taken at My Sewing Shoppe on Old Hammond Highway on May 16.

Detectives said the pair walked in posing as customers and while one asked a worker questions as a distraction, the other grabbed several credit cards from a purse behind the counter.

Investigators said the suspects used the stolen cards at several businesses around the Baton Rouge area and racked up about $13,000 in unauthorized charges.

Anyone who recognizes the women is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
