BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department hosted the "Cops Care" community Summer camp for children in Baton Rouge Friday.

Friday's activities were held at the Elm Grove Baptist Church.

Students ages 9 through 13 received an up-close look at the horses that are a part of the police force and K-9 Units in action.

Officers also taught the kids the proper way to get on a motorcycle.

Police plan to hold two more one-day camps on July 8 at Central Baptist Church and on July 22 BREC-Independence.

The camps are held from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Lunch will be provided for the kids.
