Houston woman allegedly attempts to hit man with vehicle and hits CATS city bus

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department says they have arrested a Houston woman accused of attempting to hit a man with her vehicle and running into a CATS city bus.

Police say the incident happened Wednesday in the 6000 block of Plank Road.

According to a probable cause report, a man told police that he was walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle jumped the curb and attempted to hit him.

Police say while allegedly trying to hit the man, the driver, who was later identified as 20-year-old Niesha Wiggins, ended up hitting a CATS city bus.

Witnesses told police, after Wiggins' vehicle hit the bus, she allegedly began arguing with the bus driver.

Police added that Wiggins' 8-month-old daughter was inside of the vehicle during the entire incident.

Wiggins was arrested and taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where she has been booked with aggravated assault, aggravated criminal damage to property, simple assault and child desertion.
