EAST FELICIANA PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A Texas fugitive was caught by officials in East Feliciana Parish after he allegedly caused a wreck trying to avoid local officers in the Slaughter area.
According to the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office, 36-year-old Edward Robinson Jr. was allegedly following and threatening a woman with whom he had a previous relationship.
Investigators said the woman drove on Hwy 19 until she spotted a law enforcement officer south of Hwy 956 and pulled over. Investigators said Robinson drove past them and turned around.
As Robinson was driving by again, deputies said he was met by officers who attempted to block his path. According to investigators, Robinson drove around the officers and continued driving.
A spokesperson with the sheriff's office said before officers could follow, Robinson allegedly hit another car head on.
The Louisiana State Police is investigating the crash. According to TFC Bryan Lee, three people in the car struck by Robinson were badly injured and taken to the hospital. Robinson was also taken to the hospital with injuries.
Robinson faces a long list of charges from several agencies. Lee said LSP will charge him with three counts of negligent injury, reckless driving, driving left of center and driving without a seat belt.
A spokesperson with the EFPSO said they will add charges of stalking and resisting an officer.
Officials said Robinson, whose last address is listed as Houston, is also a fugitive in Texas and could be facing additional charges from authorities there as well.
Multiple agencies within East Feliciana Parish assisted in this investigation.
