Deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man on drug charges and seized illegal narcotics at a Denham Springs motel following an investigation.

LPSO's Narcotics Division conducted an investigation into the Highland Inn Motel on South Range Avenue after deputies received a tip "that illegal narcotics were being sold from out of a Denham Springs motel room," according to Sheriff Jason Ard.

Ard said that the sheriff's office obtained a search warrant and found Deangelo Williams, of Denham Springs, inside one of the motel rooms Monday, June 13.

In the motel room, deputies found three plastic bags with each containing illegal narcotics.

"My agents seized 7 grams of heroin, 6 grams of crack cocaine and 3.75 grams of cocaine powder," Ard said. "Estimated street value of these seized narcotics is just over $2,000."

Williams was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on two counts of distribution and manufacturing of Schedule II drugs and one count of distribution and manufacturing of Schedule I drugs. His bond was set at $150,000.
