Police: Former MMA fighter accused of attacking girlfriend turns himself in to authorities

PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) -

Police said a man with mixed martial arts in his background, who is accused of attacking his live-in girlfriend, turned himself in to authorities Monday.

The Port Allen Police Department reported Trey Ramey is charged with felony domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and simple criminal damage to property. Bond has not been set.

Investigators said the former MMA fighter who was considered "armed and dangerous" attacked the victim on June 6 after they reportedly got into an argument. According to police, Ramey held her against her will for about two hours and choked her until she began to pass out.

Detectives reported the victim had bruising and swelling on her face, arm and knee. They added she had scrapes and scratches on her throat.

According to reports, Ramey at one point slammed her against a pool table, which caused it to break.
