BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - At least one tiger opponent has already taken notice of a new LSU football policy.
Under the new rule, visiting teams marching bands are banned from performing at halftime. The Jacksonville State University band director, Ken Bodiford, says his members won't be making the trip to Baton Rouge in September. He says he learned of the new rule on Thursday.
He says, "The kids always look forward to these big trips, and playing LSU is a big deal for JSU. And we started talking about that, you know, to the kids last year. So I know there'll be a lot of disappointment out there."
LSU associate athletic director, Eddie Nunez, says the decision came after someone was injured on the field two years ago.
