Two teenagers arrested for attempting to give marijuana to inmate in St. Martinville

ST. MARTINVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Friday, deputies at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center began an investigation following a suspicion that contraband substances had been brought to facility. Deputies discovered that Sheena Matthews, 18, from Breaux Bridge, and a juvenile male suspect had place a package containing marijuana in a visitation room while there visiting an inmate.

Matthews was then arrested and booked on site and is being charged with Introduction of contraband in a penal institution, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I Narcotics, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The male suspect is being charged with introduction of contraband in a penal institution and possession with intent to distribute Schedule I Narcotics.

The juvenile suspect was released into the custody of a family member while Matthews is being held on a bond of $35,000.
