IBERVILLE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A special Iberville Parish School Board meeting was held Wednesday to address the search for a superintendent.
School leaders named Linda D'Amicoan as interim superintendent.
D'Amicoan, who is a former superintendent of Pointe Coupee Parish schools, is be expected to take over in early July, while the search continues for a permanent replacement for the current superintendent.
The current superintendent, Ed Cancienne, submitted his resignation at Wednesday's meeting, where it was officially accepted by the board.
Cancienne is leaving the Iberville Parish school system to become superintendent for the school system in St. James Parish.
