Officials have in custody a man accused of aggravated arson on LSU's campus.

Police arrested Nathan Wang ,21, of Shreveport, on potential aggravated arson charges. On Saturday, June 4, Wang and another male were observed sitting near a large flame outside West Campus Apartments on LSU’s campus.

When approached by the officer, Wang fled, hopped a fence, and entered the courtyard of Broussard Hall, a dormitory he did not have access to enter.

After hiding in some bushes, Wang was apprehended. The other suspect was later apprehended as well. Residential Life staff have confirmed that the fire did cause damage to the structure of the building. Wang is also being charged with resisting an officer and trespassing.
