BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Detectives with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man who admitted to strangling his wife to death.
Donald Germany II, 42, was arrested and charged with domestic abuse battery and second-degree murder.
Deputies reported they received a call that someone was dead at a home in the 12000 block of Castle Hill Drive around 10 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, deputies found the body of a woman inside the home. The victim was identified as Nicole Jones, 41.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that Germany allegedly confessed to killing his wife to family members Monday morning. He allegedly asked them to come and pick up his daughter from the home. Officials said the child did not witness the homicide and was not injured.
Deputies said Germany admitted that he and his wife had an argument Sunday and continued to have the conversation when she returned home from work Monday morning. He told deputies that a comment made during the argument "triggered him" and he ended up strangling and killing her while on the bed.
