BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - East Baton Rouge Schools hosted the I-Care Summit Saturday.
The event, which was held at the Pennington Biomedical Center, gave tips to parents on how to handle struggles with substance abuse, violence, suicide and ADHD.
"Sometimes parents do the best they can with what they know and we kind of feel like if we can help them see some of the things they miss that can help them improve how they take care of their kids," said Gwynn Shamlin with East Baton Rouge Schools. "So we're looking to basically improve knowledge, skill level, response awareness."
The day-long event also featured presentations from speakers like East Baton Rouge Coroner Beaux Clark.
