BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Legislators sent two bills regarding drones to the governor's desk for final approval on Friday.
The House unanimously voted for final passage for the pair of bills.
The first bill authored by Representative Marcus Hunter, D-Monroe will add the use of unmanned aircraft to video voyeurism crimes. The second bill from Representative Stephen Dwight, R-Lake Charles will prohibit the use of drones near schools and correctional facilities.
Both of the bills allow for the exception for police and situations where the landowner gives permission and pre-agreed recordings like sporting events.
