BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers reported a convicted sex offender accused of several crimes, including stealing a credit card and using it to spend more than $5,000 is now in custody.
Officials said Marvin Aguillard, 29, who was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department on 14 counts of access device fraud, three counts of forgery, felony theft and identity theft turned himself in to law enforcement Thursday night.
Investigators said while working for a janitorial service in May, Aguillard allegedly stole a credit card from one of the businesses in Baton Rouge he was cleaning. They added 14 unauthorized purchases were made on the card for more than $5,200 between May 5 and May 11. Aguillard is suspected of making the purchases.
Authorities added Aguillard is also wanted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office on charges of failure to register as a sex offender, simple criminal damage to property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
According to reports, Aguillard fraudulently bought a $20,000 vehicle in March 2015 and $16,000 worth of damage was done to it while in his possession.
Also, documents show he was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2008 and has not registered as a sex offender.
