Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards announced additional rewards for information related to three recent homicides that happened within a 24-hour period in the town of Natalbany.

A press conference was held Friday at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the three recent homicide investigations. He announced that the Sheriff's Office is offering a $5,000 reward for each case, which will be on top of the standard Crime Stoppers award.

"Someone in the public has information related to this case," he said. "The truth of the mater is we have very little information to go on and what information we do have we certainly cannot share."

The body of 18-year-old Marquise Lightfoot was found early Friday morning within a block or so of the scene of a double homicide that was investigated the day before.

"We do not believe these are random acts," he said. "These are targeted attacks."

The double homicide scene was located Thursday at roughly 3:40 a.m. The victims, Charleston Mitchell, 24, of Hammond, and Randy Darnell Bickham, 31, of Springfield, were found shot to death in a SUV.

"The timing and the location lend one to believe that [the cases are possibly connected]," Sheriff Edwards said. "We have informants who say they might not be related. We are exploring all possibilities."

Sheriff Edwards said his office is stepping up patrols in that area due to the investigations.
