Two arrested in connection to late night shooting

ERWINVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Two suspects, Avian Brisco and Tristan Chauvin, both age 18, have been arrested for a shooting that occurred late Tuesday night at a residence on Pecan St., officials say.

The verbal altercation between the suspects and the two victims, Ryan Higdon and Hunter St. Romain, allegedly began at the LA Express and escalated from there.

According to St. Romain, all parties left the LA Express to settle the altercation when Higdon and St. Romain went instead to the residence on Pecan Street.

Investigators say the victims were followed to the residence by Avian and Juvenile Brisco in a silver 2009 GMC pickup. According to the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, two shots were fired, one striking Higdon in the lower back.

A silver pickup, registered to Sidney Chauvin, was later found by the Sheriff's Office crashed in a ditch close to the crime scene.

Brisco and Chauvin were arrested Wednesday morning and booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
