UNDATED - A recently released study ranks Baton Rouge in the top 50 of cities in the US for a "staycation."
WalletHub released 2016's Best & Worst Cities for Staycations on Tuesday and named Baton Rouge as the No. 34 city to take one. The study looked at the 150 largest cities in the US.
New Orleans was the top spot in Louisiana at No. 15 and Shreveport made the list at No. 72.
According to reports almost 66 percent of Americans don't plan to take a vacation this summer.
The rankings in the study are based on 28 key metrics. Those include movie and bowling costs, golf courses, spas and more.
The study found New Orleans, for example, has the most museums per 100,000 residents, with 23.34.
Researchers named Orlando, FL as the best city for a staycation. They added Chula Vista, CA is the worst.
