Police: Man forces his way inside home and attacks owner

THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) -

Police said a man broke into a home and attacked the homeowner after leaving threatening voicemail messages.

The Thibodaux Police Department reported Frederick Gray, 43, of Raceland, was arrested Monday.

Investigators said Gray started calling the victim from different numbers starting before 8 a.m. and left the messages.

They added he then went to the victim’s home in Thibodaux around 2 p.m. and forced his way inside.

According to police, Gray then got physical with the homeowner, who was eventually able to get him out of the home and call police. Police didn’t offer specifics, but apparently, the incident involved a child.

Gray was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on charges of home invasion and domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

His bond was set at $52,000.
