BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - New recruits for the Baton Rouge Police Department got some help Saturday with a critical skill.
Recruiters said good interviewing skills are important during the application process.
For the first time, Baton Rouge police offered training classes which helps potential recruits improve.
"It's interesting to watch the applicants come through each session, and a lot of them have come to three. A lot of them have come to two," said Rendy Richard with BRPD. "We start comparing their scores, and the scores are steadily improving, so we're hoping that with our mentorship towards the process, and helping them figure it out. Know what they're actually getting into. It's just going to help them succeed in the process."
