BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department say a man was hit and killed while helping with a traffic accident early Saturday morning. Bond has been set at $51,000 for the driver who was allegedly responsible.
Police say the crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. in the 8000 block of Jefferson Highway.
According to police, an investigation revealed that 36-year-old William Warren stopped to give aid and direct traffic around a separate accident in the area when he was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier traveling eastbound.
Warren was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver, who is identified as 41-year-old Gregory Hamilton, was arrested and taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he has been booked with vehicular homicide, DWI second offense, reckless operation, suspended drivers license and no insurance.
