DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - The Kiwanis Club of Livingston Parish honored four law enforcement men and women for their work throughout the years.
The ceremony was part of the Denham Springs Kiwanis Club's "Peace Officer of the Year" awards banquet.
Sgt. Nick Locicero from the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office won. Also honored are Tpr. Michelle Patt from the Louisiana State Police, Officer Amber Fairburn from the Denham Springs Police Department, and Lt. Marshal Anthony Groger from the Denham Springs Marshal's Office.
"It means a lot, especially in today's time," said Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard. "We've seen, there's been a lot of differences between the community and law enforcement and this means a lot to the guys who go out and put their lives on the line each and every day to show there is an appreciation."
This was the 43rd annual awards luncheon from the Denham Springs Kiwanis Club. It was held at the Forrest Grove Plantation.
