BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is looking for three people accused of cashing counterfeit checks belonging to the parish school system.
Deputies said 25-year-old Hubert Jackson, 23-year-old Fredrick MacKey and 24-year-old Quentin Wilson are wanted for monetary instrument abuse and theft.
In April, the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board reported that several counterfeit employee checks were cashed for several thousand dollars at local stores.
Deputies said were able to determine the check were counterfeit by the check numbers, the person who authorized them and the fact that the person using them were not employees of the school system. According to EBRSO, the suspects did provided identification each time they cashed a counterfeit check.
Two other suspects, 36-year-old Leonard Hayes and 22-year-old Shareka Hayes, have been arrested.
