LOCKPORT, LA (WAFB) - A 36-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly trying to run down her ex-boyfriend with a pickup truck.
The incident happened on Monday night at roughly 1 a.m. Deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office say the suspect, Tracy Eschette, dropped her ex-boyfriend off at his home in Lockport, but then he claims she tried to run him over with her vehicle.
"...she passed up his residence and ordered him out of the vehicle," reads a press release from the Sheriff's Office. "Eschette began to pull away, but as the man walked toward his residence, Eschette returned and allegedly began driving directly toward the man. He jumped over a ditch in an attempt to escape, and Eschette drove through the ditch, back onto the highway, and fled the scene."
Deputies were contacted and when they arrived on scene, they say they spotted Eschette driving on La Hwy. 1. When they pulled her over, they claim she tried to hide evidence.
"...a pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine fell out of the vehicle," the release noted. "Eschette immediately crushed the pipe by stepping on it, and she was detained."
Eschette was arrested and charged with domestic abuse aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of justice. Her bond is set at $11,000, but she is also being held for a probation violation.
