Officials: Crime Stoppers tip leads to arrest of sex offender wanted for failing to register

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Officials said a Crime Stoppers tip led them to a sex offender who was wanted for failing to register.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported Wade Pardue, 37, was taken into custody Thursday morning. APSO said deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office found Pardue around 10 a.m. after receiving the tip.

Lt. Col. Bobby Webre with APSO said Pardue was put on probation until 2004 after being convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 1999. He added Pardue was convicted twice on failure to register charges - once in January 2011 and again in May of 2011.

Webre said Pardue was released from prison in February 2015.
