BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Detectives with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Denham Springs Police Officer on a domestic abuse charge.
30-year-old DSPD officer Landon Groger was arrested after Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard says they were given a CD with photos and an audio conversation with Groger and his ex-wife. That was used as evidence to make the arrest. Groger later turned himself in to detectives. Ard says the alleged abuse took place during May and June of 2015.
Denham Springs Police Chief Shannon Womack says Groger was placed on paid administrative leave.
Mayor of Denham Springs, Gerard Landry, says "This is a serious matter and will be treated as such. I've also asked the Sheriff to conduct an Internal Affairs investigation into the matter. Know that this will be investigated thoroughly."
Groger faces a misdemeanor domestic abuse battery charge, with a set bond of $1,500.
