GEISMAR, LA (WAFB) - A portion of LA 73 has reopened in Ascension Parish, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD).

DOTD reported the road closure was between LA 30 and River Road in Geismar. All lanes on LA 73 in that are reopened around 5 p.m. Tuesday
Just before 1 p.m., DOTD added the closure is expected to last about six hours. Drivers were advised to find an alternate route.
