Gov. Edwards signs TOPS changes and 17 other bills into law

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Gov. John Bel Edwards has signed 18 more bills into law, including one that makes changes to TOPS.

Below is a list of the bills that were signed:

ACT 13 - SB 32: Authorizes the city of Carencro to levy a sales and use tax
ACT 14 - SB 63: Removes the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum from the jurisdiction of the Department of State
ACT 15 - SB 110: Re-creates the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism
ACT 16 - SB 139: Removes the Schepis Museum from the jurisdiction of the Department of State
ACT 18 - SB 174: Provides relative to the minimum ACT score for TOPS eligibility and TOPS award amounts
ACT 19 - HB 12: Provides that the state treasurer and the commissioner of administration, or their designees, serve as voting members of the Municipal Employees' Retirement System board of trustees
ACT 20 - HB 100: Redesignates a portion of United States Highway 165 in Grant Parish as the "Captain Ronald David Bennett Memorial Highway" 
ACT 21 - HB 109: Provides for issuance of multiple hang tags for persons with mobility impairments
ACT 22 - HB 110: Designates a bridge located on Louisiana Highway 154 in Bossier Parish as the "Officer Thomas LaValley Memorial Bridge"
ACT 23 - HB 120: Designates portions of certain highways in Vernon Parish
ACT 24 - HB 128: Adds requirements to qualify for a commissioned police officer special prestige license plate
ACT 25 - HB 236: Provides grace period in order to pay certain taxes and fees related to motor vehicles for persons separating from active duty military service
ACT 26 - HB 248: Provides relative to a certain special prestige license plate for motorcycles
ACT 28 - HB 468: Requires adult residential care providers to disseminate educational information on influenza
ACT 29 - HB 485: Provides for access to consumer reports by the Department of Children and Family Services for child support purposes 
ACT 30 - HB 519: Provides relative to the maintenance of electronic records by domestic insurers and to the maintenance of their records outside the state 
ACT 31 - HB 622: Authorizes the transfer of certain state property in Caddo Parish
ACT 32 - HB 782: Provides relative to certain definitions in the Insurance Code used in regulation of health insurance

A total of 37 bills have been signed into law so far this legislative session.
