BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The head of the Louisiana Department of the Treasury weighed in on the ongoing battle over food stamps.
Treasurer John Kennedy said too many people in the state are on food stamps. He talked specifically about work requirements for recipients.
Kennedy said people are not meeting the requirements and he called that an "insult" to taxpayers.
Federal law requires food stamp recipients to work at least 20 hours a week.
