BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The former office manager of a Baton Rouge surgery group has pleaded guilty to charges for stealing more than $400,000 from her employer, according to officials.
US Attorney Walt Green said Lorrie Rogerson, 57, of Baton Rouge, pleaded guilty to wire fraud. He added she embezzled $430,490 from Pediatric Surgery of Louisiana (PSL).
US District Judge John deGravelles presided over the proceedings.
According to reports, Rogerson had access to the company's bank accounts in order to make deposits and pay bills for the company. Reports stated a review of the company's financial records revealed Rogerson had made unauthorized withdrawals and transfers from the company account.
According to court records, Rogerson took money about 256 different times over a seven-year period. The reports stated on one occasion she accessed the account via the internet and transferred money to pay off her credit card bills.
A sentencing date has not been set.
