Crime Stoppers: Deputies search for man accused of kidnapping, beating ex-girlfriend

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Investigators are on the lookout for a man accused of kidnapping and beating his ex-girlfriend.

Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers reported the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is trying to find Matthew Johnson, 30.

He is described as 5'11" tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Deputies said he drove to the home where his ex-girlfriend was staying on April 3.

They added Johnson pushed the homeowner to the ground and made is ex-girlfriend get into his car.

Authorities said Johnson beat his ex-girlfriend inside the car and drove off with her.

LPSO deputies said a car chase ensued, but Johnson got away after jumping out of the car and running off.

He faces charges of domestic simple assault, simple kidnapping, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, domestic abuse battery and simple battery.
