BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A United States attorney announced the sentencing of a man convicted of a gun crime.
Attorney Walt Green says in the early hours of November 14, 2014, BRPD were called to a home on Byron Street. A caller told police that 42-year-old Michel Lands had a gun and fired a shot. After a struggle, the BRPD arrested Lands and recovered a .40 caliber gun, two spent shell casings, and a bullet slug from inside the house Lands fired at.
Jones was convicted and sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.
"This is another example of the danger posed by felons with guns," said U.S. Attorney Walt Green. "Keeping our communities safe from such criminals will continue to be one of my office's highest priorities."
