Judge denies new trail request for man convicted in wife's death

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A state judge ruled if a man convicted in the 2009 brutal stabbing of a local attorney deserved a new trial.

Judge Bonnie Jackson ruled that Greg Harris, who is accused of stabbing his wife Chiquita Tate to death, will not be allowed a new hearing or trial.

Harris was convicted of killing Tate back in 2011 and is now serving a 40-year sentence in prison for manslaughter.

Tate was found dead in her downtown Baton Rouge office.
