Chicago, IL (WAFB) - Vonn Bell has been drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the 30th pick in the second round of the NFL Draft. The Saints traded up to get the safety from Ohio State as the 61st overall draft pick.
Bell played three seasons at Ohio State, starting all 13 games as a sophomore and junior for the Buckeyes.
The 5'11, 200 pound defensive back finished the 2015 season with 65 tackles and one interception.
As a junior, Bell was named an Associated Press, Sporting News and SI.com First Team All-American, as well as First Team All-Big Ten.
In three years at Ohio State, Bell has 176 tackles and 9 interceptions.
The Saints drafted another Buckeye earlier in the second round. Wide receiver Michael Thomas was selected by New Orleans with the 47th overall pick.
