Police investigate 2 overnight shootings in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge detectives are investigating two unrelated overnight shootings.

Officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department confirm that the first shooting happened at roughly 1 a.m. on Red Oak Drive, which is located off Sherwood Forest north of Florida Blvd.

Officers arrived on scene to find a woman in the roadway. She was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The second shooting happened at roughly 2:25 a.m. in the 5100 block of Sherwood St., which is located near N. Foster Drive.

In this case, a man told police he was sitting on his front porch when he was struck. He too is expected to survive.

Both shootings remain under investigation.
