BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police pups are on display at the Regional Police K-9 Trials this week.

This event happens each year as the U.S. Police Canine Association pits multiple law enforcement agencies against each other in friendly competition. The trials are held at BREC's Perkins Road Community Park in Olympia Stadium.

The event is free and open for the public. The first day of the trials was held Tuesday morning. Thursday is the final day and the competition ends at noon.

On Tuesday, the K-9s demonstrated obedience, suspect search, evidence search, and ability training through various drills and demonstrations. Thursday was a bit ore vicious because the dogs displayed their skills at apprehending criminals. .
