LSU's Jerald Hawkins taken by Steelers in fourth round of NFL draft

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Former LSU offensive lineman Jerald Hawkins was drafted with the 25th selection in the fourth round by Pittsburgh Steelers. He was taken 123th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. 

Hawkins played at West St. Mary High School in Baldwin before coming to LSU. He redshirted as a true freshman in 2012.

The 6-foot-6, 305 pound lineman started three years for LSU from 2013 to 2015, making the move from right tackle to left tackle last season.  During his time with the Tigers, he played and started in 37 games, with 25 at right tackle and the other 12 at left tackle.

Hawkins decided to forego his senior season and entered the 2016 NFL Draft. He was invited to the NFL Combine.
