BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Deion Jones was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the 21st pick of the 2nd round. The former LSU linebacker was the 52nd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Jones got his first start as a senior and finished the season with 100 tackles. He finished his Tiger career with 165 tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss, and 5.0 sacks.
Jones lead LSU in both tackles and stops for lost yardage in his last season. He also had two interceptions, five sacks, and three pass breakups in 2015.
The 6-foot-1, 227-pound linebacker played at Jesuit High School in New Orleans before committing to LSU.
The Falcons traded up two spots, switch spots with Houston as well as getting the Texans' sixth-round pick.
