Bill to end high school playoff split fails to pass La. House

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The full House voted against a bill aimed at ending the public-private split in Louisiana high school football playoffs.

The bill would have prevented schools that get state money from being part of an organization that divides sports in such a way.

The principals of LHSAA voted earlier this year to expand the split to basketball, baseball and softball.

The principals will hold a special meeting in June to try to reach a compromise about the split.
