BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man faces attempted murder charges after allegedly shot a woman in the arm in early April.
Jaquan Johnson, 20, was arrested after he walked up to several people in the 600 block of North Ardenwood Drive and asked for one victim by name. According to the warrant by Baton Rouge Police, once the victim aknowleged that he was there, Johnson allegedly pulled out a handgun and started firing at the victims.
BRPD says Johnson missed his intended target, and instead, inadvertently shot another victim in the arm.
Police questioned both victims and another witness to the shooting, who all said Johnson was behind the crime.
Johnson was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder, carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal use of a weapon.
