LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - The Livingston Parish Council took up an idea the previous council considered.
The council is looking into the implementation of term limits for Livingston Parish leaders.
Parish President Layton Ricks has discussed term limits with some of the new council members and how to best go about doing it.
"We talked about it a lot before the election, and then when we got together after the election, they asked me my opinion on it at that time and talked about it," Rick said. "And I said 'Well I don't think it will pass if you try to do one versus the other, or if you do different numbers for council versus administration, but I do think it'll pass if you go across the board."
The council will vote on the resolution at its next meeting, but voters would ultimately decide at the polls later in the year.
