PONCHATOULA, LA (WAFB) - A teen was taken out of a classroom at Ponchatoula High School and placed into handcuffs after he allegedly made a bomb threat.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, Calvin Richardson, 17, was arrested at roughly 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Investigators believe he posted a bomb threat on social media directed to the school.
"I am encouraging all parents, grand parents, and/or guardians to talk to your children about the seriousness of on-line threats and the consequences of facing multiple felonies at the young age of 17," said Sheriff Daniel Edwards.
Officials say Richardson was in the process of posting another "terrorizing threat" to the high school at the time of his arrest.
Richardson was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Prison. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
