THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) -

The Thibodaux Police Department says they have arrested two men on connection with a murder and an armed robbery on December 26.

Police arrested 27-year-old Bruce Johnson and 30-year-old Anthony Ayrow after a 16 month long investigation.

Johnson and Ayrow are accused of shooting and killing Lillian Alexis on December 26, 2014 just before 8:30 p.m.during an armed robbery in the 1200 block of Tiger Drive.

The police chief says they are happy to have finally made an arrest in the case.

"We follow the evidence," said Police Chief Bryan Zeringue. "The evidence led us to Bruce Johnson and Anthony Ayrow and although their arrests will not bring back Lillian, the family may be able to find some peace knowing Lillian's killers are behind bars."

Both Johnson and Ayrow are being held without bond.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.

If you have any information about the shooting, you are asked to call Detective Sergeant Val Taylor at 985-446-7294.
