BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A woman was arrested for DWI after police say she nearly struck a marked police vehicle. Police say her 9-year-old son was a passenger in the vehicle.
According to the probable cause report submitted by the Baton Rouge Police Department, the incident happened Wednesday in the 2300 block of 72nd Ave. at roughly 10 p.m. The officer claims that a vehicle driven by Chiquita Chriss, 42, nearly struck his police unit.
The officer allegedly conducted a traffic stop as Chriss was pulling her vehicle into the driveway of her home. He claims she showed signs of being impaired and asked her to perform a field sobriety test.
After allegedly performing poorly, he placed Chriss under arrest and transported her to District 1 for processing. It was there that she was asked to take a breathalyzer test. The report notes that Chriss had a BAC of 0.204 percent.
Chriss was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of DWI, reckless operation, and improper lane usage.
