Funeral plans set for SU students killed in Sunday shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Funeral services for the two Southern University students killed in a shooting at an apartment complex near LSU Sunday have been announced. 

The wake for Leshuntae "Tae" Benton will take place Friday, April 15 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Fondel Memorial Church Chapel. On Saturday, April 16, there will be a visitation starting at 9 a.m. at Christian World Ministries located at 2001 East Gauthier Road in Lake Charles. The funeral service will begin at noon with the burial following immediately after in Perkins Cemetery.

A wake for Annette January will be held Friday, April 15 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nabors Family Funeral Home in South Holland, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16 at the Community Church of God in Hammond, Indiana starting at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.

Benton and January, both 19, were killed Sunday morning during a shooting at the Cottages Apartment complex near LSU. 

A 24-year-old male was also injured in the shooting. 

Ernest Felton, 22, was arrested Sunday afternoon in connection with the shooting but has since been released on bond.
