The former Saint was found inside his SUV shot multiple times to his back and torso.
The weapon was discovered while detectives executed a search warrant on both Smith's Mercedes G63 and the suspect's Hummer H2.
Detectives also found a fully-loaded revolved inside the Hummer. However, police did not find any bullet casings inside the vehicles. There was also no ballistic evidence to show that the weapons were fired during Saturday night's shooting.
According to police, the suspect, 28-year-old Cardell Hayes, allegedly fired a .45 caliber handgun in the incident. Hayes was arrested and booked with second-degree murder.
