BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man was arrested after allegedly leaving his child in a car as he walked through a casino.
Baton Rouge Police arrested 27-year-old Quavis Grant after he allegedly left his car in the parking lot of the Hollywood Casino on 1717 North River Road. Grant was seen leaving his car unattended before walking onto the casino floor for about 30 minutes.
According to a probable cause report from the Baton Rouge Police Department, Grant contacted casino security who found his 4-year-old child in the car with the engine off and the windows rolled up.
Grant told casino security that he left his child in the car and went inside to use the restroom. He was arrested and charged with child desertion.
Baton Rouge Police notes that the place Grant parked was in a parking space closest to the Mississippi River where there was no barriers to prevent a person from falling in the river.
