Police arrest suspect in accidental shooting death of Baton Rouge man

LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) -

The Lafayette Police Department says they have made an arrest in connection to the accidental shooting death of a Baton Rouge man. 

According to police, 21-year-old Kenneth Mills has been arrested and charged with negligent homicide in the shooting death of 21-year-old Colin Norwood. 

Norwood was shot Thursday, April 7 at 12:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Bertrand Drive in Lafayette. Bertrand suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital where her later died. 

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
