BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officials with Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers say that a woman accused of depositing a check meant for her business and later withdrawing the money has been arrested.
Crime Stoppers says 45-year-old Stacy Brewer was arrested by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Department Thursday morning after she was located in the 8000 block of Jefferson Highway.
According to investigators, Brewer allegedly deposited a $60,000 business check into her person checking account in August 2015 and then withdrew more than $49,000. The check was made out to both Brewer and the company and the entire amount was meant for the company.
Brewer has been charged with bank fraud and felony theft.
